2025 Head Football Coaching Changes


Region 1

Washington County - Johnny Carpenter was the program's fourth coach in seven years and was 10-19 in his third season in Chatom when he resigned suddenly on October 22nd.

2025 Season - Vacant




Region 2

G.W. Long - David Watts

2025 Season - Clay Massey was most recently the defensive coordinator at Decatur High School. He also served as an assistant coach at Bibb County for seven seasons. Previous experience includes stops at Pelham, Demopolis, Citronelle and Stanhope Elmore.




Region 3

Barbour County - Derrick Levett

2025 Season - Vacant



Highland Home - Justin Bragg

2025 Season - Vacant




Region 5

Lamar County - Robert Bradford stepped down at Lamar County following the 2024 football season. In eight seasons leading the Bulldogs football program. Six of his teams reached the playoffs including four in a row something only two other coaches at Lamar County had done.

Region 7

Gaston - Derrick Sewell departs from West End after just three seasons with an even 16-16 record. His last two teams qualified for the playoffs but both lost first round games. In December he accepted the head coaching job at Gaston.

Region 8

Decatur Heritage Christian - Nikita Stover resigned from his position as the head football coach at Decatur Heritage after just three seasons. He led the Eagles to playoff spots in his last two years and finished with a 20-11 record and a region championship in 2023.
